Cleo House, Jr. (Director of the School of Theatre and Dance; Associate Professor of Theatre) Teacher and Professional Artist previous acting credits include the Teller & Posner Macbeth at The Folger Shakespeare Theatre (D.C.) and Two River Theatre Company (N.J.), Hammet in Inssurection: Holding History at Theatre Alliance (D.C.), Amusa in Death and the King’s Horseman at The Lantern Theatre (Philadelphia), Aaron in Titus at the Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival, and Boy Willie in The Piano Lesson at the Theatre of the Seventh Sister. Directing credits include Hello Dolly!, at the Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival, Cry Cristiana Morning at Theatre of the Seventh Sister, and the Lincoln Center’s Directors Lab (NYC). He is a Helen Hayes Nominee (Outstanding Ensemble) and has won numerous regional awards as a director in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. He was formerly coordinator of Theatre at Penn State-Berks College, chair of Visual & Performing Arts at Texas Southern University, and chair of Speech and Theatre at Clark Atlanta University. A native Texan, Cleo is a graduate of Texas A&M University at Commerce (BS) and Texas Tech University (MFA). He attended Stephen F. Austin State University’s High School Theatre workshop in 1992.
